Buildings Associated With Freemasons – Victoria

1501 Fort Street, Victoria, was built in 1885 for David William Higgins(1854-1917), a member of Victoria-Columbia Lodge No. 1 in Victoria. Its 1885 construction cost was $8,000, making it one of Victoria’s most expensive homes of the period.

David William Higgins owned the Daily Colonist newspaper and was active in provincial politics.

1501 Fort Street is now a B&B called the Amethyst Inn.
