In 1937 Claude and Edna Green built a new house on Grieve Road in North Cowichan and moved there from 733 Wharncliffe Road. Claude Green’s daughter Sylvia Dyer told us that as Claude and Edna Green had children they found 733 Wharncliffe Road was too small for their growing family. So they designed the new house on Grieve Road and moved there in 1937.
Claude Green is also associated with these buildings in downtown Duncan:
161 Kenneth Street, where Claude Green operated his paint contracting business circa 1930-1948
145-149 Kenneth Street, built by Claude Green in 1949
