".......Temple Lodge, No. 33 - Visited this Lodge officially on saturday, May 31st, accompanied by R.W. Bro. William Henderson (Senior Grand Warden), Wor. Bros. Gidley, Riddell, J.F. Sallaway and Clarence B. Deaville. The Wor. Master, W. Bro. Duncan, raised a candidate to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. In the latter part of the second section of this ceremony (the crux of the Degree) I must say that the Duncan Lodge does work that is not equalled in this Jurisdiction for impressiveness and instruction. At the conclusion of the ceremonies of the Lodge R.W. Bro. William Henderson (Senior Grand Warden), and W. Bros. Riddell, Deaville and Salloway gave some good advice to the Brethren. The occasion was made particularly interesting by the attendance od W. Bro. E.B. MacKay of St. Andrew's Lodge, No. 49, who had just returned from an extended journey around the world, and his recital of some of the interesting things he had met.....

".......On January 13th, I had the pleasure of accompanying the Most Worshipful Grand Master to Duncans [sic], to assist in installing the officers of Temple Lodge, No. 33. The Brethren received the Most Worshipful Grand Master and his officers in a very loyal and hospitable manner.....On May 6th, I paid an official visit to Temple Lodge, No.33, accompanied by Worshipful Bro. Stephen Jones and others. The Third Degree was exemplified in a very able manner by Worshipful Bro. Peterson and his officers. There was a large attendance, and the exemplification was marked by earnestness and thoroughness on the part of Worshipful Bro. Peterson and his officers. Masonry in this District is progressing on the proper lines. We were hospitably entertained, after the closing of the Lodge, at a banquet, at which the usual Masonic toasts were given and responded to. The finances of this Lodge are in good condition, and the books are kept in good order......

".......On the 12th January, 1915, I visited Temple Lodge, No. 33, at Duncan, for the purpose of installing the officers, in which duty I was assisted by M. Wor. Bros. E.B. Paul and Wm. Henderson, W. Bros. G.L. Milne, L. Tait, F. Christie, W.S. Terry, S. Jones, G.D.C., and Wor. Master R.H. Wood of No. 24. Bro. A.A. Freeman also visited Temple Lodge on my invitation, and won the hearts of the Brethren by making the speech of the evening at the installation supper. This brother from Seattle is doing good work in cementing the brotherly love which should and does prevail between ourselves and our Brethren across the line. It is always a great treat to meet members of Temple Lodge and experience the warmth of their greeting..........In conclusion, I wish to say that under all the stress of war and depression of trade, which has been a marked feature of the Masonic year which is fast drawing to a close, one cheering fact stands out, and that is the great fraternal feeling which has shown itself eager to assist unfortunate Brethren to obtain employment and to alleviate the distress which has prevailed....

".......Temple Lodge, No. 33. January 11th, 1916. I paid my official visit for the purpose of Installing the officers into their respective places, in which work I was again assisted by M. Wor. Bros. E.B. Paul, when the M. Wor. Bro. distinguished himself in his most able final address. Business concluded, we repaired to the banquet hall, where a very enjoyable hour of speech-making was spent.
April 11, 1916, I accompanied the M.W. Grand Master, Bro. W.C. Ditmars, upon his official visit to Temple Lodge, No. 33. A very notable feature of this meeting was the attendance of four Past Grand Masters, M.W. Bros. E.B. Paul, Jno. M. Rudd, F.J. Burd, Wm. Henderson and R. Wor. Bro. J.G. Warden Jno. Shaw; also a very large attendance of distinguished Brethren and members. Wor. Bro. McMillan conferred the 2nd degree in a very creditable manner, very ably assisted by his officers, after which the M.W. G.M. was requested to unveil the Roll of Honor of Temple Lodge, No. 33, very beautifully engraved by Wor. Bro. E.B. McKay and framed by Bro. A. Harris, both of whom very generously donated their good work. After which the Grand Master delivered a very able and enjoyable address, and then the adjournment to the banquet room was made, where a good time of social intercourse was had.........

".......On January 9th, 1917, I had the honor of installing the Officers of Temple Lodge, No.33, Duncan. Accompanied by M. Wor. Bros. E.B. Paul and twenty-five members of the Craft, we journeyed to Duncan. The party from Victoria were loyally received. After the work of the evening we sat down to a splendid banquet. The programme was pleasing and instructive.
On May 8th, 1917, I paid an official visit to Temple Lodge, Duncan. I was honored by the unique support of the Ruling Masters of Victoria Lodges and the Master of United Service, as follows:
W.B. A.A. Belbeck, Victoria-Columbia, No. 1
W.B. W.P. Marchant, Vancouver and Quadra, No. 2
Bro. M.J. Little (S.W.), Acting Master St. Andrew's, No. 49
W.B. E. Fairey, Camosun Lodge, No. 60
W.B. W.E. McIntyre, United Service, No. 24
Accompanied by a number of other Brethren we motored from Victoria.
W. Bro. Greig of Temple Lodge and his well-trained Officers conferred the Fellow Craft Degree in a most impressive manner.
The work was well done and the business of the evening promptly executed. The work of the Senior Deacon, Bro. C.W. O'Neill, was performed with precision and dignity. The Fourth Degree was marked by a very able and intellectual address by W.Bro. W.P. Marchant on "The Relation of Masonry to the War." W. Bro. Belbeck also gave a splendid discourse on "Harmony." Right Wor. Bro. A.F. Yates, D.D.G.M. of No. 5 District, was also in attendance, and delivered a stirring address on "The True Principles of Free Masonry."
The absence of W. Bro. J.H. Peterson, whom I am sorry to state is very seriously indisposed, was much regretted.
We were entertained by Temple Lodge in a very hospitable and fraternal manner..........

".......On January 8th, 1918 I was invited to install the Officers of Temple Lodge No. 33 at Duncan, B.C. I was accompanied by M.W. Bro. Paul, W. Bros. Deaville and Belbeck from Victoria, R.W. Bro. Sproule from Singapore who was visiting in Victoria, and ther Deputy Grand Master, R.W. Bro. Shaw, and W. Bros, Yates, Frame and Ward from Nanaimo. Right Wor. Bro. Sproule exemplified the work of installing the W.M., this being particularly interesting by the R.W. Bro. pointing out the differences in the ceremony here and in other parts of the world. I noted that seven of the newly installed officers of this Lodge were Past Masters and was told this was a matter of necessity rather than choice, as thirty-three members (or forty per cent) of this Lodge, out of a membership of eighty, were on Active Service. Four of this number have made the Supreme Sacrifice...........

.....On May 13th, 1919, I paid another official visit to [Temple Lodge, No. 33]. In response to a hearty invitation from the Worshipful Master, W. Bro. C. O'Neill, in addition to the usual one from me, an unusually large number of Grand Lodge Officers availed themselves of the opportunity to combine duty with pleasure, by making the trip to Duncan; twenty- seven, including M.W. Bro. Henderson, R.W. Bro. W.S. Terry, J.G.W., R.W. Bro. W.T. Phillips, and other distinguished Brethren, assembled in the Lodge Room to do honor to the occasion, when the M.M.
