Deceased Brethren
Casimir Andrew Kopec (1914-1971) was brought into Temple Lodge No. 33 in 1947 by his employer, Claude Green. Casimir Kopec worked as a foreman for Claude Green‘s paint contracting business at 161 Kenneth Street in downtown Duncan in the 1940’s and early 1950’s.
His Petition for Initiation was received by Temple Lodge No. 33 on 14 October 1947, stating the following: Casimir Andrew Kopec, age: 29, occupation: painter foreman, residence: Duncan, B.C.
Casimir Kopec was elected to membership in Temple Lodge No. 33 on 11 November 1947. He was Initiated in Temple Lodge No. 33 at Duncan Masonic Temple on 25 November 1947, along with Clayton MacArthur Wright.
Casimir Kopec was Passed to a Fellow Craft in Temple Lodge No. 33 at Duncan Masonic Temple on 27 January 1948, along with Clayton M. Wright.
Casimir Kopec was Raised in Temple Lodge No. 33 at Duncan Masonic Temple on 25 March 1948.
Our Minute Book records that the officers of St. John’s Lodge No. 21 of Ladysmith conferred the Master Mason Degree on Casimir Kopec but does not record why. Temple Lodge No. 33 and St. John’s Lodge No. 21 have always had very close and amicable links so this kind of cooperative effort is, and was, not unusual.
