Deceased Brethren

James Leslie Atchison made a Petition for Initiation to Temple Lodge No. 33 on 10 June 1929. His Petition stated that he was born at Pembroke, Ontario on 12 July 1895 and was employed as a logger by the Cowichan Lake Logging Company at Camp #6, Youbou, B.C. [Note: this webpage suggests Camp 6 was actually at Caycuse, not Youbou.]
He was recommended for membership by Chris Gilson, Val R. Dick, Stanley Gordon and Charles William O’Neill.
James Leslie Atchison seems to disappear from our records in 1934. It should be noted that the logging industry in which he worked was, like all businesses, suffering from the effects of the Great Depression so it is possible he left the area at that time. At this point we have not been able to locate a demit certificate in our records.
We will add more information to this page as we do additional research.
