Featured Deceased Vancouver Island Freemason For May 2017 – Eli Harrison Jr. (1852-1930)

As part of our Vancouver Island Masonic History Project we are starting a monthly feature highlighting a deceased Vancouver Island Freemason who has played a role in Vancouver Island history.

This is our second such post. Our Featured Deceased Vancouver Island Freemason for May 2017 is Eli Harrison Jr. (1852-1930), a member of Vancouver & Quadra Lodge No. 2 and a former Supreme Court Judge in Nanaimo.

Eli Harrison’s home, built in 1892, is still standing at 546 Prideaux Street in Nanaimo. It is listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places and the City of Nanaimo Heritage Register.

Judge Eli Harrison Jr. is buried in Ross Bay Cemetery, Victoria, along with his father, Eli Harrison Sr., Past Grand Master.
