We recently came across a post on the Masonic Music Organization Facebook site which said that American march composer John Philip Sousa was a Freemason for 51 years, a member of South Gate Lodge, No. 657, Des Moines, Iowa.

Anyone who military marches will undoubtedly be familiar with some of John Philip Sousa's music.
