STEVEN HAMILTON HOSKINS
R.W. Bro. Steven Hamilton Hoskins (died 18 August 1959, aged 90) was Initiated, Passed and Raised in Cranbrook Lodge, No.34 in Cranbrook, B.C..
He affiliated with Temple Lodge, No.33 on 13 December 1932 and remained a member of Temple Lodge, No. 33 until his death in 1959.

Died August 18th, 1959 Aged 90 years."

"Former government agent Steven Hoskins dies at 90
A former provincial government agent in Smithers and Duncan, Steven Hamilton Hoskins died in King's Daughters' Hospital Tuesday at the age of 90.
Mr. Hoskins was born at Ware, Herts. England, and entered B.C. government service in 1896 as assistant police officer for the Islands. He was transferred to Victoria in May, 1900, and then to East Kootenay in July 1902.
In April, 1905, he was transferred to the inside service as chief clerk of the Cranbrook agency. From there he went to Nelson in July, 1910, as mining recorder, assessor and collector.
Mr. Hskins was promoted to government agent at Hazelton in April, 1913, and went to Smithers when the agency was transferred there in October 1918. In July 1931 he went to Anyox as agent before being transferred to Duncan on April 2, 1932. After 43 years service with the B.C. government, Mr. Hoskins retired September 30, 1939.
Mr. Hoskins was married at Fernie, B.C. April 21, 1903, to Miss Margaret Hilda Ward, third daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Philip Ward, Braughing, Herts.
He was a member of Temple Lodge, No.33 and had also been a past district deputy grand master. Mr. Hoskins was active in church affairs and was a former warden of St. John's Anglican Church, Duncan.
He is survived by his wife, Holmes Street; three sons, Philip, South Burnaby; Clive, North Vancouver; Oswald, Smithers. Five grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. under the auspices of the Temple Lodge, from St. John's Church with Canon Brian T. Page officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's churchyard cemetery, Somenos. Hirst Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements."

"Masonic funeral rites for late Steven Hoskins
Funeral services for the late Steven Hamilton Hoskins, who died at King's Daughters' Hospital August 18, were held from St. John's Anglican Church Friday with Canon Brian T. Page, assisted by Rev. E.M. Willis, officiating.
During the services, the hymn "Thine Forever" was sung C.A. Howard was at the organ.
Pallbearers, all Masons, were John Homer, R. Cairns, J. Morrisey, E.M. Waldie, R. Cummins, George Highmoor.
Services were held under the auspices of Temple Lodge, No.33, A.F. & A.M., of which Mr. Hoskins had been an active and valued member. Members attended in a body and and at the conclusion of the services, formed open ranks from the church portals to the hearse, through which the casket was borne.
Impressive last rites were conducted at the graveside, after which they filed past the coffin to deposit their evergreens, a final mark of respect to a departed member.
Burial at St, Mary's churchyard followed.
Hirst Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements."
